Defy the Rush. Embrace the Hush.

A NOTE FROM DR. JAYA

Hello, FAIR PEOPLE OF OUI! IT IS I, Dr. Jaya.

I know it’s been a while since you’ve heard from me directly!

Many of you have been with me since I launched Your MD Bestie, when I was personally available almost 24/7 to a tiny group of concierge patients. You trusted my weird little dream before there was a clinic, a team, or a particularly sensible business plan.

I will never forget that!!!!

But The Oui Doctor has grown (yay!), and I’ve learned something along the way:

Being endlessly available is not the same thing as providing excellent care.

 Also, it’s not sustainable!

Technology has taught us that because something can happen immediately, it should. More texts. Faster answers. Constant access.

I don’t think it’s made us healthier!!! Just because we CAN answer any question at the drop of a hat – does that mean we should?

Did our smartphones liberate us or imprison us? (side eye emoji!!!)

So I’ve decided we’re going to build something different. A different model. Something that I hope will leak into your own lives.

DEFY THE RUSH. EMBRACE THE HUSH.

We practice Slow Medicine: enough time to listen, think, make good decisions, and create a plan together.

That shared responsibility is why your Fridge Plan is the cornerstone of your care. It’s our agreement: what you’re taking, what you’re changing, what you’re working on, and when we see you again.

Even that ridiculous(ly amazing) affirmation limerick is intentional. Repetition, neuroplasticity, and joy help things stick.

Your Fridge Plan is our handshake.

And going forward, we’re getting clearer about our boundaries and expectations.

Routine refills belong at visits. New medical decisions belong at visits. Non-concierge patients with their recommended follow-up already scheduled can still use the Oui Doctor Hotline for brief clarification questions—but the hotline cannot replace an appointment.

Expanded refill assistance and same-day sick access will be part of our new concierge plans, relaunching within the next two weeks.

There’s another change I want you to hear from me:

I need the hush, too.

I’m moving into a larger executive, educational, and content-creating role while continuing to see patients. That’s why I’ve spent so much time training NP Jill and NP Ashley in the Oui Doctor way.

Think The Hollow Decks, the most amazing 90s cover band ever to grace our city.

Three singers. They rotate. Different voices, same damn excellent band.

That’s us.

And my Dr. Jaya OG Besties: I’m not disappearing. I’m delighted to see you every few visits as my schedule allows. Taking care of you and helping you find more joy in your life is still one of my reasons for being!!!

The goal is not to make The Oui Doctor less personal.

It’s to build a practice where personal medicine can survive.

Our staff gets the hush, too. Closed means closed. Lunch means lunch. And yes, Pame gets to actually eat hers!

I don’t want to build a clinic around how quickly we can answer a text.

I want to build one around how well we can care for a human being.

Exhale.

Oui have all the time we need.

Slow Medicine. Shared responsibility. Clear boundaries. Excellent care.

Defy the rush. Embrace the hush.

LOVE YOU,
Dr. Jaya
